About us
Mossley Roughtown Community Centre is run by Mossley Community Association, which was set up to provide educational, welfare, recreational and leisure time activities for the inhabitants of Mossley. We are a charity. The Community Centre building was originally St John’s school. After a period of disuse, it was re-opened by Tameside MBC as youth club, and also provided space for other groups. The Association took over
the running of the building, and became a charity in 2005. It is independent of Tameside Council, though they still own the building, and the Association works in partnership with them to ensure the continuing provision of this important community facility.
